Hours: Rancho Los Alamitos Historic Ranch and Gardens
is open to the public Wednesday through Sunday,
1:00-5:00 p.m.
Holiday Closures:
The site will be closed to the public on the following dates:
December 19, 2011 through January 3, 2012 for the holidays. The Rancho will reopen on Wednesday, January 4, 2012.
Admission: Free
Parking: Limited parking is available at the Rancho on normal operating days.
Dress: We suggest you wear comfortable clothing and low-heeled shoes, which help protect the historic floors of the ranch house, and make walking in the gardens more enjoyable.
Programs: Educational programs and special events throughout the year feature topics as diverse as agricultural and domestic skills, Native American, Japanese and Hispanic culture, the history of landscape design and an annual ranch-style Christmas program.
Smoking: Smoking is only allowed in the parking lot area.
Pets: Please leave little Fido at home. Only certified service animals are permitted on the premises.
Restrooms: There are restroom facilities on site. However, we do NOT have wheelchair accessible restrooms (yet).
Finding your way by car: Rancho Los Alamitos is located within Bixby Hill and accessed through the residential security gate at Anaheim and Palo Verde.
From the 405 Freeway, exit at Palo Verde Avenue and turn south.
From the 605 Freeway, exit at Willow, follow to Palo Verde and turn south.

Finding your way by bus:
Monday - Friday - Long Beach Transit bus line #81, exit at Anaheim and Palo Verde.
Saturday and Sunday - The #81 bus does not run on Saturday and Sunday, so you will need to take a #91 or #94 bus from downtown Long Beach to Beach Drive and W. Campus N (near the Student Union) then walk to the Rancho. The walk from this bus stop to the Rancho is approximately three quarters of a mile.
