Rancho Los Alamitos Curatorial Volunteers learn about the various collections on site and assist the Curator in maintaining and caring for the objects. |

The Curatorial Volunteers perform a wide-range of critically important tasks ensuring that everything from pressed glass to fine furnishings to textiles to farm equipment to vintage kitchenware to garden artifacts are preserved for future generations to enjoy. Curatorial activities range from inventory, cataloging, and photo-documentation to artifact care and maintenance.

But it is not all artifact related. Join the group of “Faux Foodies” making a Thanksgiving dinner to be displayed on the dining room table or help make faux Christmas candy and cookies for the holiday display or faux cornbread and beans for the ranch hands’ dinner table. You don’t need to have experience or be an artist to join the fun.

It is also fun to learn about the objects and the role they played historically in the lives of the people who lived on the ranch. Perhaps the very best part of being a curatorial volunteer is sharing these activities with other people who have similar interests.
